Biomedical Communications Alumni Association

UNIVERSITY OF TORONTO

Do you love BMCAA events? Are you looking for a way to get involved and stay connected with the BMC community? Look no further! Come be part of the magical team that is your current Exec for 2021-2022! We are seeking an Events Coordinator to help organize and execute all those events you love so much.

About the BMCAA Executive Committee

The BMCAA is run by a talented and dedicated team of BMC student and alumni volunteers who are typically voted in every two years during the annual UnCon. This executive committee meets monthly to collaboratively plan, execute, and oversee all aspects of the BMCAA’s functioning.

At the 2020 BMCAA election, several executive team roles were left unfilled - including Events Coordinator - and the 2021-2022 Exec Team has served their tenure thus far in the absence of this critical role. The BMCAA is hoping to fill this position as soon as possible so they can better serve the alumni community and achieve their objectives.

The 2021-2022 BMCAA executive team strives to be a welcoming and supportive group that provides each member the space to share ideas and bring them to life, to hone skills or develop new ones, and to ultimately help shape and grow the wonderful BMC community. We can’t wait to have you join us and do awesome things for the community, together!

About the Events Coordinator Role

The Events Coordinator plays a key role in ideating, planning, and executing the BMCAA’s monthly and annual events, with the support of the whole executive team. In addition to their role in events, they also support the broader exec team in other various communal tasks as needed. They attend the exec team’s monthly meetings.

Responsibilities

Typical Events Coordinator responsibilities can include, but are not limited to:

  1. Event Ideation: contribute to brainstorming of events and activities that help the BMCAA achieve its mission

  2. Event Planning: research, booking, and coordination of venues, vendors, and / or instructors; management of ticketing; creation and management of event schedules

  3. Event Communications: copywriting for event invitations and advertisements across multiple platforms and channels

  4. Event Execution: communicating logistics to team and other parties involved

  5. Event Follow-Up: submitting workshops to AMI for CEU approval; creating feedback loops for event attendees

Interested, but not totally sure how to do some of these things? We’ve got you, fam. We’ll train you in the ways, and the team will be there to support you whenever you need!
